Interaction Arts and Drama Network

With a focus on play and interaction in education since 2004, IADN has injected the essence of performance, music and visual arts into primary, secondary and tertiary schools in Singapore.

IADN clients have included agencies such as Singapore Prison Service, non-profit organisations such as Singapore Discovery Centre and statutory boards such as National Library Board.

We have also provided specialised programmes for Northlight School and Pathlight School.

Our trainers are all MOE and NAC-AEP approved and have gone through our rigorous IADN Trainers Programme to ensure the highest standards in arts education.

Apart from our NAC-AEP programmes and workshops, we provide customised Excursion Enrichment programmes and Special Needs programmes.

Melvinder Kanth

Melvinder trained at the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in the United Kingdom and has trod the boards professionally for over 20 years.

His theatrical training and experience has been instrumental in his, starting his very own arts-education company in 2004. Melvinder has since been creating and conducting drama workshops and assembly school shows for primary, secondary and tertiary schools in Singapore.

Melvinder keeps in touch with his craft by continuing to ply his trade.
Recent roles include Lennox in “Macbeth”, Conrade in “Much Ado About Nothing” with the Singapore Repertory Theatre and Vinod in The Necessary Stage’s re-staging of “Off-Centre”.

Recent film and television leads include Samad Allapitchay, Captain of the 1977 Singapore football team in “Kallang Roar, The Movie” and Ismail Khan in “1988 Segaris Sinar”, an award-winning television mini-series aired on Suria channel.

Melvinder won the best supporting actor award for his role of Caliban in 3.14’s Wayang Tempest at the 2002 Life! Theatre Awards.

In 1999, Melvinder went into the field of documentary filmmaking. His first documentary, “In Search of the Penan”, a journey in search of a nomadic tribe in the rainforests of Borneo was aired on National Geographic Television and his second documentary, completed in 2001, entitled “In Search of Afghanistan”, won the Asian Digital Film Award at the Singapore Film Festival in 2002.

Melvinder was part of the pioneer graduating class of the Specialist Diploma in Arts-Education by National Institute of Education (International) in 2013 It is this knowledge of stage, screen and its application in education that brings out the best in our programmes.
